Best writing advice quote EVER!

So I regularly read Chuck Wendig's blog Terrible Minds, even though I don't read his books, because his writing advice is 1) hilarious and 2) sorta useful. Today he had one of the single greatest quotes ever about writing. In the post, he's deconstructing common writing advice and why it's mostly nonsense, or at least not as universally true as people like to believe. The quote I loved:

"Never Start With A Character Beholding Herself In The Mirror —
Did it in Blackbirds. Book got published. F#@& you."

Needless to say I edited this quote to be more family friendly, but I was actually audibly laughing while reading this, which is rare for me, unless I'm on cakewrecks.com that is. Anyway, read the post, which like many of his posts on writing, it's worth your time and thought. Enjoy your new writing friend.
